Dr. Bertrand Guichard, IFPEN, France
Bertrand GUICHARD graduated from ENSCP ParisTech with a degree in Chemistry in 2004 and earned a PhD in Heterogeneous Catalysis from IFPEN and Lyon 1 University in 2007. Since then, he has made significant contributions to catalytic developments aimed at advancing refining technologies, focusing on catalysts and processes. In 2022, he received the French Catalysis Division Prize for Innovation in Industrial Applications, recognizing his commitment to advancing heterogeneous catalysis technologies and bringing them to market. Following this achievement, his work has primarily centered on the development of biofuels, with a particular focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production. His research encompasses a comprehensive study of Fischer-Tropsch technology and its upgrading steps within the frameworks of Biomass-to-Liquids (BTL) and e-fuels processes. Currently, he serves at IFPEN as the group leader for Metal-Catalyzed Processes, including applications such as CO2 hydrogenation as one of many areas of interest, further enhancing his expertise in sustainable and innovative catalytic solutions.
