Professor Pascal Fongarland, Université Claude-Bernard Lyon 1, France
Pascal Fongarland has a full professor position in Université Claude-Bernard Lyon 1 since 2011 and is deputy director of IRCELyon (Institut de Recherches sur la Catalyse et l’Environnement (UMR 5256 CNRS-Université Lyon 1)) since 2026. After obtained a Master degree in Catalysis in 1998, he got his PhD in 2003 in Chemical Engineering and joined the “Laboratoire de Catalyse de Lille” in 2005 in the team of Dr. Andrei Khodakov with a position of assistant professor in Ecole Centrale de Lille. In 2011, he moved to Ircelyon laboratory in Lyon. From 2016, he became the director of LGPC laboratory and between 2021 and 2024 deputy director of CP2M (merging of LGPC and C2P2 laboratories). He is co-author about 100 papers in the field of syngaz conversion (Fischer-Tropsch, MeOH/DME), methanation, RWGS); biomass and waste valorization (hydrothermal liquefaction, supercritical gasification, pyrolyse) and process intensification (structured materials and reactors, separation-reaction coupling, catalytic systems coupling). His fields of expertise are on kinetics investigation of complex catalytic reactions, catalytic processes intensification anre more recently have contributions into catalytic reactor electrification
