Professor Pengfei Xie, Zhejiang University
Pengfei Xie received his Ph.D. degree from Fudan University in 2016. Then he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Johns Hopkins University, and promoted to Assistant Research Scientist in 2020. He moved to Zhejiang University in 2021 and is currently a distinguished Qiushi professor of chemical engineering and leading a research group with the research interests include atomic dispersed metal catalysts and their applications in CH4 and CO2 abatement or valorization. His research has developed a multi-dimensional paradigm integrating high-throughput computations, machine learning, and experimental validation to facilitate rational catalyst design for CH4 or CO2 conversion, which establishing novel strategies, methodologies, and systems for greenhouse gas mitigation under this new research paradigm. He has co-authored more than 100 scientific journal publications. To recognize his commitment in C1 chemistry, he received the R&D 100 Awards in 2020, Science and Technology Progress Award from The Chinese Rare Earth Society in 2024, Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Youth Award from Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China in 2025. He is also the editorial board members of SusMat, Chemical Synthesis and Energy & Environmental Materials.
